14k and 18k Gold Plating at Luvea: The Art of PVD Explained
The world of jewelry is vast and complex, with a multitude of techniques and materials used to create beautiful and durable pieces.
At LUVEA, we use a particularly innovative and high-quality technique to plate our gold jewelry: PVD , or Physical Vapor Deposition.
What is PVD gold plating?
PVD is a modern plating method that uses a vapor deposition process. Unlike traditional methods, PVD is ten times thicker than standard gold plating. This eco-friendly technique employs a vacuum coating process, resulting in an extremely durable finish.
14k Gold Plating vs. 18k: What's the difference?
14k Gold Plating:
The majority of our jewelry is plated with 14k gold. It is an alloy made of 58.3% pure gold mixed with other metals to strengthen it. This gives the jewelry a slightly paler gold color, but with increased resistance to scratches and wear.
18k Gold Plating:
For some specific products, like our rings, we use 18k gold plating. Containing 75% pure gold, 18k gold has a richer, deeper hue. It is a preferred choice for rooms that require a more luxurious look.
Why choose PVD gold plating from LUVEA?
Durability and brilliance are at the heart of our philosophy. By using PVD gold plating, we ensure that our jewelry not only shines brightly, but also stands the test of time.
Whether you choose 14k or 18k gold plated jewelry, you benefit from the LUVEA promise of unmatched quality.
